Seriously Facebook? How About Some Ad Variety…

November 22nd, 2010  |  Published in Random  |  No Comments

I mean… I know my status shows as single, but is that all I am to you? I rarely see ads for anything other than dating sites offering up attractive girls just waiting to have a meaningful relationship with me. Plus, my Religious Views are shown as “Pastafarian” … so where are the ads to help me meet single and attractive followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster?
I know these sites are paying top dollar to have their ads show on my page as I’m sure I fit perfectly within their demo, but come on… I spend an inordinate amount of time on Facebook for myself and for work so I’d like to see some variety in my ad servings, especially when I’m seeing multiple ads for the same exact site. Otherwise, I can see AdBlock playing a significant role in my web browsing future.

This started out as a tongue-in-cheekish type post, but I got genuinely annoyed at some point while typing. Not sure what happened there.

Dinner Experiment #462: Tempeh Tacos

So, this is an interesting combo, but bear with me… Tempeh, marinated in soy sauce and sriracha, sauteed with spinach, mushrooms, fresh banana peppers and topped with mashed avocado (not guacamole because there’s no salt, lime, etc…). Turns out this is delicious. Successful experiment. Sent from my iPhone Posted via email from chazbeaner

Racing Cars on a Sunday

Much to my father’s chagrin I’m sure, I never really got into the whole car racing thing. Fortunately, my youngest brother did, thus fulfilling the Simmons’ family gear head legacy. So, I like to come out and support and spend two hours pretending like I know what I’m talking about. Check out a very brief […]

Friends + Superfriends = Brilliant

I don’t usually put up a post just for a video, seems like a cheap, quick way to publish content. Plus, it’s not even my own content. However, this video is brilliant and just happens to involve one of my favorite Friends episode of all time. Coincides well with the fact that I just visited […]

How Not to Execute a Social Media Blog Outreach Campaign

Alternate title: Should I Be Flattered By All The Attention? This blog used to reside under the Google umbrella over on a blogspot domain before I shifted it over to my own domain, and I still get email directed to that account every once in a while. Most recently, I received an email from Wikio […]

Keyword Music Search: The Best ‘Insane’ Songs (Courtesy of Denon)

The basic idea of the “Keyword Music Search” is that I type a keyword into my iTunes search function and then pick two or three of the best results that come up (I have over 15,000 songs and counting, so the choices are many and varied). Hopefully, this will be an interesting and novel way […]

Georgia Bulldogs Top USA Today Coaches Preseason Poll

GO DAWGS, GO DAWGS, GO DAWGS!!! Ok, it’s out of me now. The USA Today Coaches Preseason poll was just released and the Georgia Bulldogs are sitting smack in the top spot. Does this raise expectations higher than I’m necessarily comfortable with? Yes. Will I cancel plans to sell myself on a street corner for […]

Need WordPress Permalink Change Help…

First things first, I’m writing this from the WordPress iPhone app. So far, seems really cool and pretty functional. Problem is that my blog template uses custom fields for images in a post, which are not supported. Hence the lack of images. Anyway, I’m asking anyone reading this for WordPress advice. I’m gunning for Google […]

Keyword Music Search: The Best ‘Science’ Songs
